SI stands for Super Intelligence. It is also the week's most talked-about acronym. Here is what it means for us.
In September 2026 the United States government said it would use “super intelligence”, or SI, instead of “artificial intelligence” in its documents. In the same month, a bill to ban superintelligent systems was introduced in Congress. People are understandably confused, excited and worried, sometimes all at once.
We do not build superintelligence, and we are wary of anyone who claims to. We use today's most capable AI models to do specific, useful work for businesses, and we keep people in charge of it. For us, SI is a promise about how intelligence is used: carefully, openly and for the good of the people it serves.
